What is a data complaint?
A data complaint is any expression of dissatisfaction regarding how we have handled an individual’s personal data, including insecure data handling, failure to facilitate the exercise of data protection rights (e.g. Data Subject Access Requests) or unfair or unlawful processing of personal data.
How to make a data complaint
Individuals can make a complaint in writing to our Client Service and Compliance Unit by writing to them at Marina Court, Castle Street, Hull, HU1 1TJ or by emailing our Data Protection Officer, Sarah Pether at sarah.pether@andrewjackson.co.uk
Please include your name, contact details and full details of the complaint.
Please note that we will require proof of identity before we can deal with any complaint in order to ensure security of data being supplied in response to the complaint.
What will happen next?
We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 30 working days. The complaint will be investigated by this firm. A substantive response will be provided without undue delay.
We will keep records of all data protection complaints, including the nature of the complaint and the actions taken, to help improve our services.
