Andrew Jackson team advises Blue Water Shipping on major logistics project
We are delighted to announce that our shipping and transport team recently advised global logistics company, Blue Water Shipping A/S Denmark (BWS), on numerous contracts relating to the supply of transport and logistics for the Tengiz Oilfield, operated by Tengizchevroil (TCO), one of the largest projects of its kind in the world.
Leading a number of consortiums comprising contractors from various countries including Kazakhstan, UK, Russia, Finland, UAE and Bulgaria, BWS’ work on the Tengiz project includes the transportation of modules involving the construction of 20 bespoke designed module carrying vessels, nine new tugs and a number of modified barges and existing tugs, as well as modified mooring pontoons.
Dominic Ward, partner and our head of shipping and transport, led the legal team advising BWS and said: – “We were involved with BWS at the tender stage before being appointed to negotiate all of BWS’ contracts – both the main contracts with TCO and the sub-contracts with BWS’ suppliers. This included the review of a range of contracts, from inland transportation and ship-building, to mooring systems and agency contracts, dealing with countries including the USA, Denmark, Vietnam, Azerbaijan, Romania, Turkey and Russia.
“Now that the project has reached a point that cargo is being transported, we are also dealing with contracts relating to the handling of these huge modules and associated work.”
Dan Nissen, COO of Blue Water Shipping said: – “We are delighted that Blue Water continues to be awarded contractual work by TCO for this complex logistics project. We believe that it reflects our continuous development as a specialist in project transport and logistics globally – especially in the Caspian Region.
“The advice and personal service that we have received from Dominic and his team have been first class, enabling us to secure numerous contracts as the project has developed. Andrew Jackson is very much our trusted legal advisor for such matters.”
Dominic added: – “I am really delighted that we have been able to help our client on this significant project.”
