Fisheries Lawyer to Present at Leading Conference

Leading fisheries lawyer Andrew Oliver, a partner in our shipping & transport practice, has been invited to speak at a high profile conference organised by the Westminster Food and Nutrition Forum, which will focus on the next steps for fisheries management in the UK.

Andrew, who recently became a consulting editor of Halsbury’s Laws: Fisheries and Aquaculture 2022, will deliver a speech to an audience of senior business leaders and decision makers on the key issues affecting the fishing industry including sustainability, the workforce pipeline, support for coastal communities, climate change, and quotas and exports.

Andrew said : – “I’m delighted to be involved in this important event, which follows the recently published Joint Fisheries Statement from Defra and the UK devolved governments and sets out how this policy can apply to fish stocks, fisheries management, the environment and supporting industry.

“Andrew Jackson has a long heritage of acting for clients operating in the fisheries sector and the conference will be a fantastic opportunity to discuss key issues around best practice in relation to fisheries management plans and priorities for monitoring progress of outcomes.”

The conference will be held on Tuesday 21 February and may be booked at https://www.westminsterforumprojects.co.uk/book/Fisheries-23
