Fisheries Lawyer, Andrew Oliver to present at leading seafood conference
We are delighted to announce that Andrew Oliver, partner and head of the fisheries unit at Andrew Jackson, will this week return as a guest speaker at one of the world’s leading events for the fishing industry – the Pelagic Fish Forum – which takes place on 30 September in Copenhagen.
Andrew will deliver a keynote speech to an audience of senior business leaders and decision makers from around the globe on the impact of Brexit on international seafood trade & fisheries, and possible solutions to different scenarios.
He will present the speech to set the legislative background on Brexit, paving the way for a number of international speakers to expand on the subject from an industry perspective.
Andrew said: – “Having presented at the Forum in 2017 and 2018, I’m delighted to return to this year’s event in Denmark. It is undoubtedly one of the leading global events for those involved in the seafood sector and an opportunity to hear about key developments and trends shaping the future of the industry.
“Whilst Brexit continues to be a key issue for the remaining EU states, it is of equal importance to many other states bordering the North East Atlantic, with whom we share the management of straddling fish stocks. As a result Brexit is a key issue for those countries, as they face trading with, and negotiating access to a third country – rather than a European – state.
“Andrew Jackson has a long heritage in the seafood industry having acted for both the catching and processing sectors in the 1800s, although today our fishing clients span the globe.”
