Getting to grips with GDPR: Where are we now?
When the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25 May 2018, the rules and business practices around data protection changed considerably for businesses of all shapes and sizes.
Despite the significance of GDPR, many businesses remain unprepared and are therefore failing to comply with the new rules, leaving them exposed to the prospect of significant fines.
With this in mind, and in response to numerous requests from clients and professional advisers alike, we hosted another fully-booked seminar – GDPR: Two Weeks On – which took place at our Hull office during Humber Business Week on 7 June 2018.
With regular updates on GDPR and its implications being released all the time, our breakfast event provided the ideal opportunity to bring attendees the latest developments and an opportunity to review and sense check the procedures and safeguards they may have put in place.
To help businesses who may have been unable to attend, or those who would simply like to learn more about GDPR, we are running a similar event in York at Merchant Taylors Hall. Places are limited, so if you are interested in attending please book your places by contacting Sarah Liversedge in our Business Development Unit by emailing sarah.liversedge@andrewjackson.co.uk.
In the meantime, if you would like to learn more about the services our Commercial and Employment Law teams can provide to help protect you and your business, please get in touch with our partners Marie Kell (commercial law) and Jonathan Dale (employment law) by emailing marie.kell@andrewjackson.co.uk / jonathan.dale@andrewjackson.co.uk or speak to one of the team today by calling 01482 325242
