National recognition for solicitor in advising older and vulnerable clients
A solicitor with regional law firm Andrew Jackson Solicitors LLP has been recognised with national accreditation for her expertise in providing legal support to older and vulnerable clients, their families, and carers.
Charlene Merry, who works in Andrew Jackson’s private client team, is now an associate member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE), a UK-wide organisation which aims to set the standards for the highest quality legal advice in areas such as wills, powers of attorney and elder abuse.
To achieve accreditation, members must spend at least 50% of their time working with older and vulnerable clients and undertake continuous training to ensure their skills and knowledge are up to date.
Charlene said: “I am thrilled to achieve this national accreditation in an area of law which is really important to me. I have worked with older and vulnerable clients for many years and it is often the case that they have specific client care needs. They may be facing mental and physical difficulties, as well as health and social problems, which need to be taken into account when providing legal advice, delivered with care and compassion.”
