Andrew Jackson Solicitors’ staff are hoping 150 years of maritime experience can be channelled to help keep them afloat when they take on the Dragon Boat Challenge in York.
The team, made up of many familiar faces from the city office, will compete in the high profile charity event on Sunday, July 14.
It will be one of 36 entries battling it out, with sights set on the fastest commercial team trophy, while making a significant contribution to worthy causes.
Heats lead to a grand final as part of a gala day of activity on and around the river, with the event taking place between Scarborough Bridge and Lendal Bridge in the city centre.
Partner Samuel Peake is leading the Andrew Jackson entry. He said: “We pride ourselves on being a team oozing with talent, we just hope we don’t find ourselves treading water in the Ouse!
“It should be great fun, a fantastic teambuilding opportunity, with brilliant deserving charities set to benefit, both in the local community and nationally.”
Andrew Jackson’s participation will raise money for York Rotary’s Charity Fund, York Samaritans and the firm’s chosen charity, Cancer Research UK.
